INTERNET ATLAS OF HISTOLOGY AT UIUC MED SCHOOL (BEST HISTO WEBSITE)

In order to use the UIUC histology website, you must have JAVA (not Javascript) installed and enabled in your browser.  Go to Sun's website if you need to install your Java browser plugin.  You must also accept the site's security certificate (it's safe, trust me).  Once you are in the histology library, you will want to click on the "L" option that is boxed in red below, so that the slides are displayed in full detail and resolution.  A very useful (but occasionally annoying) option is the "mouse over" button boxed in green below.  When checked, when your mouse hovers over a feature on the slide, the feature is highlighted and a voice tells you what the feature is (e.g. when looking at blood smears, the slide display will highligh a monocyte and the voice will say... "monocyte."!
